Atlantic Salmon Fly Fishing at Grønseth Vestre, Forra by Stjørdalselva

The Salmon beat Gronseth Vestre is in the famous Stjordalselva tributary Forra . From 2027 this beat is leased by Nordic Fly Fishing Distribution (NFD)   https://nfd.nu/ and several improvements along the 1000m long beat are being made before opening on Jun 1st 2027.   Its a strictly Fly Fishing only beat of 1000meter with 5 pools and max 3 rods per day for NOK 690 each. Fishing is on one side (west side) and there is occasionally fishing on the other side.

The beat is situated approx. 4km upstream from where it meet Stjördalselva
Nearest airport is Trondheim which actually is in the town of Stjördal and only 15min drive from our beat.

The beat has a nice shelter (Gapahuk) in the middle of it and a spacious parking place.

This beat is like made for fly fishing with rods from 12-14ft and 7 to 9wt depening water flow.  Perfect waterflow is between 13 and 28 cbm/s but the beat fish well also from 8-10 and up to 40 although pools might be shorter at very low or very high water.

POOL NAMES from top to downstream:
Grilse Run  Lovely pool, Rather wide.  Fish well from 15 to 30. 50-60m long

Corner Pool  This is a short pool where fish stop for a short while before running into Grilse run

Long Pool  Fish on all water levels from 10 to 50.  A dream pool. Classic!  Between 100 and 200m long depending water flow

Big Rock Pool  Short ( 40-50m) with a big stone and in between two fast rapids. Outside the shelter. Very productive as in between two rapids. Perfect flow is 15-25

Promising Pool  Beautiful pool of approx.. 70-90m length nice flow and some biggish boulders. Fishes best from 15 to 40 cbm/s
